The topic of next semester's SWT Bachelor and Master seminars (SWT-SEM-B/M) is that of programming language concepts.

In the seminar we will explore programming languages from the fundamental generic concepts of, e.g., scoping, memory management, type systems, metaprogramming and execution techniques, to their concrete implementation in modern languages such as those from the object oriented, functional, logic/relational and hybrid paradigms. To exemplify, compare and contrast the concepts, a number of new and innovative languages will be employed such as those taken from the recent, highly assessable book series "Seven Languages in Seven Weeks". Such languages include, but are not limited to, Clojure, Haskell, Io, Prolog, Scala, Erlang, Ruby, Lua, Factor, Elixir, Elm, Julia, MiniKanren, and Idris.

If you would like to participate in the seminar or require more information please contact Dr. David White or Prof. Gerald Lüttgen.
