Liebe Studierende,
ein herzliches Willkommen im Sommersemester 24! Zum Semesterstart sind hier einige wichtige Ankündigungen für Sie gesammelt:
[Fakultätsnachwuchs]
In diesem Semester können wir wieder einen neuen Professor an der Fakultät begrüßen: Prof. Dr. Roman Klinger unterstützt ab sofort den Fachbereich Angewandte Informatik mit dem Lehrstuhl Grundlagen der Sprachverarbeitung.
Lehrveranstaltungen dieses Fachs sind in diesem Semester weder in Prüfungsordnungen noch in Modulhandbüchern gelistet. Die Veranstaltungen können aber bei fachlicher Passung auf Schein belegt und dann im Nachhinein anerkannt werden. Das Modul Information Retrieval and Text Mining ist im Bachelor Angewandte Informatik in Modulgruppe A3 einbringbar und im Masterstudiengang Computing in the Humanities in Modulgruppe A2. Zudem ersetzt es in diesem Semester das Modul MI-IR-M. Das Modul Emotion Analysis from Text ist im Master Angewandte Informatik in Modulgruppe A1 und im Masterstudiengang Computing in the Humanities in Modulgruppe A2 wählbar.
[Bachelorstudiengang AI]
Dieses Semester kann abweichend vom Modulhandbuch das Modul HCI-KS-B nicht angeboten werden. Ersatzweise ist dieses Semester das Modul HCI-DISTP-B auch in Modulgruppe A3 (statt in Modulgruppe A5) einbringbar.
[neue Sprechstunde]
Die Sprechstunde wird dieses Semester um zwei weitere Zeitfenster erweitert: Zusätzlich bin ich neben den gewohnten Zeiten Dienstags von 14 bis 16 Uhr und Mittwochs von 10 bis 12 Uhr (nur telefonisch!) zu erreichen.

Die aktualisierten Modulhandbücher für das Sommersemester 24 sind bereits online. Diese sind hier einsehbar. Beachten Sie bitte, dass Sie sich für Ihre Studienplanung immer nach dem aktuellsten Modulhandbuch richten müssen (gemäß Ihrer Studienordnung).

Dear students,
a warm welcome to the summer semester 24! For the start of the semester, here is some important announcements for you:
[New professors of the faculty]
This semester we again welcome a new professor at the faculty. Prof Dr. Roman Klinger is from now on new in the Department of Applied Computer Science with the chair Foundations of Natural Language Processing.
Courses of these chairs are neither listed in examination regulations nor in module handbooks in this semester. However, you can get certificates (Scheine) for these courses and if they are suitable for your subject, they can be recognized for your study program afterwards. The course Information Retrieval and Text Mining is eligible in the Bachelor's program Angewandte Informatik in module group A3 and in the Master's program Computing in the Humanities in A2. Furthermore, in this semester it replaces the module MI-IR-M. The course Emotion Analysis from Text is eligible in the Master's program Angewandte Informatik in module group A1 and in the Master's program Computing in the Humanities in module group in A2.
[Bachelor's program AI]
The module HCI-KS-B cannot be offered this semester. Alternatively, the module HCI-DISTP-B can be recognized in module group A3 (instead of A5) this semester.
[New office hours]
The office hours will be extended by two more time slots this semester: In addition to the usual times, I can be reached on Tuesdays from 2 to 4 pm and on Wednesdays from 10 am to 12 noon (by phone only!).

The updated module handbooks for the summer semester 24 are already online. They can be viewed here. Please note that you always have to refer to the latest module manual for your study planning (according to your study regulations).
