In this AI Systems Engineering (AISE) Seminar we will investigate recent projects centered on the implementation of AI systems for cities technological development, with specific focus on: mobility sustainability, optimization of applications based on individual and/or collective needs, and the study of urban organization.

Moreover, we will outline and discuss an interdisciplinary project that the Chair for AISE is currently developing with the Chair of Philosophy II at Uni Bamberg. This project investigates the different layers of interconnection between the ethics of AI (and the development of AI systems as ethical), AI systems used as assistants in ethical decision-making processes, and the education of AI systems to support ethical values. We will further explore and discuss potential applications related to this project and critically reflect on its objectives.

Last, but certainly not least, we will engage in an interaction with Klinikum Bamberg about the potential relevance and use of symbolic AI systems in medical settings, in synergy with medical specialists and varieties of medical technologies used at Klinkum Bamberg. The ideal outcome of this Seminar is the outline of students Master and Ph.D. projects in the area of AI Engineering and AI Ethics.

Organization: The Seminar will be organized in two parts: first part in May-July 2023 and second part in September 2023.
The first part will focus on the three topics: International Projects in Smart City, Project with Philosophy 2, and Project with Klinikum Bamberg. The second part will concern your presentations on one of the three topics.

For the first part, we will meet on Fridays starting from the 26th of May, ROOM WE5/02.020, at 10 AM. The meetings will last between 4 and 6 hours, depending on whether we will have external guests or working interactions at Klinikum Bamberg.
