The Department of Computer Science at the University of Paderborn,
Germany, is searching for a new member of the scientific staff within
subproject B3 of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 901 "On-The-Fly
Computing" (http://sfb901.upb.de). A position as a Research Assistant
(with salary according to TV-L 13) is to be filled as soon as possible
(for a fixed term of one year with the possibility of an extension). The
position will be associated with the Intelligent Systems group
(https://www.cs.uni-paderborn.de/fachgebiete/intelligente-systeme.html).
The option of undertaking a PhD is provided and will be explicitly
supported.

Your duties and responsibilities:

The project deals with the development of concepts and methods for the
assurance of functional as well as non-functional properties for
on-the-fly compositions of software services. In order to analyze
non-functional properties, the project intends to leverage machine
learning methods. More specifically, the goal is to develop methods for
predicting different properties and performance metrics of service
compositions.

Your profile:

A qualified candidate is interested in theoretical as well as applied
interdisciplinary research and has a Master's or equivalent degree in a
relevant scientific or technical subject, such as computer science,
mathematics, computational engineering, or business informatics. In
addition to a sufficient background in software engineering, a strong
expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning is required.
