The Centre for Humans and Technology (MeTech) at Chemnitz University of
Technology is seeking to fill a post-doctoral position of a
Research Associate (m/f/d)
(75-100 %, Salary level E 13 TV-L)
as part of the DFG-funded research project "Systems, Algorithms and
Cognitive Models for Predicting Individual Human Reasoning (PREDIR)" at
the earliest possible date to be filled for an initial period of 2 years
with the option of extension. Selection will be based on suitability,
aptitude and professional performance. Chemnitz University of Technology

accordance with SGB IX. The job is generally also suitable for part-time

Description of Responsibilities:
- Participation in the research activities of the Professorship of
Predictive Analytics with an emphasis on the areas human deductive
reasoning, cognitive modelling, psychological experiments, and knowledge
representation
- Focus on analyzing and evaluating psychological theories about
deductive/inductive reasoning and developing cognitive models
- You will use your research results for scientific publications and
your own qualification. The position allows for further scientific
qualifications (in Psychology, Cognitive Science or Computer Science)
If you are interested in working in an interdisciplinary, highly
motivated team you should fulfill the following requirements:
- An above-average degree (preferably PhD) in one of the three areas
Computer Science/Cognitive Psychology/ Cognitive Science
- Strong publication record
- Experience and interest in the research activities of the professorship
- Basic knowledge in at least three of the following areas:
Psychological experiments, cognitive modelling, domain of reasoning or
decision making research, algorithm development, practical knowledge of
programming languages (e.g. Python, R), statistical analysis
- A good command of the English language is mandatory
You must also fulfill the recruitment requirements in accordance with §
73 SächsHSG.
