The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the
Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany, invites applications for a

	      Assistant Professorship for Deep Learning
		       (Salary Scale W1 NBesO)

to be filled as of March 1, 2022. The position is limited to three
years, with an extension option for further three years.

The future position holder should represent the field of Deep Learning
in research and teaching. He/she is to advance the relevant state of
the art in the areas of deep learning (especially in the area of
speech and text, but also images and other data), and should drive
innovations based on these methods in areas like information
retrieval, question answering and conversational interfaces.

The assistant professorship is embedded in the faculty focus "Robotics
and Intelligent Systems" as well as in the L3S Research Center with
its focus on "Intelligent, Reliable and Responsible Systems". Active
collaboration in teaching activities and acquisition of third-party
funded projects is expected, group leadership in the Research Center
is possible and desired.

An excellent PhD on current topics in the context of information
retrieval, machine learning and deep learning as well as relevant
excellent publications in this area are prerequisites for the
appointment. International collaborations and project experience are
an advantage.

The successful candidate will be expected to hold selected courses in
English.

General responsibilities and conditions of appointment apply, in
accordance with the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act
(Niedersaechsisches Hochschulgesetz - NHG). Details will be provided
