In the Institute of Informatics at the Ludwig-Maximilans-University
(LMU) Munich, Germany, a position as a Research Assistant is to be
filled as soon as possible. The position, which is funded by the German
Research Foundation (DFG), is connected with a research project titled
“Remaining Useful Lifetime for New and Used Technical Systems under
Non-Stationary Conditions”.
The project is located in the intersection between machine learning and
engineering. As suggested by the title, the main problem to be addressed
is the development of machine learning methods for predicting the
remaining useful lifetime of technical systems in situations where the
underlying data-generating process is non-stationary, for example
because the system is used under different conditions or due to changes
of the environment.
