Students will be introduced into topics in gender economics. The main aim of this seminar is to familiarize students with the literature on gender economics, while equip them with skills that allow them to read, discuss, and critically reflect on an empirical paper that uses micro-econometric techniques. The course will include topics such as:
- Causes and origins of gender inequality
- Gender wage gap, work conditions, female labor force participation
- Discrimination, sexual harassment
- Reproductive rights, women’s health
